Jordan Wax is a musical and linguistic polymath whose debut Yiddish album טײַטש (The Heart Deciphers) fuses deep scholarship of Yiddish dialects with contemporary songwriting, drawing on klezmer, indie rock, and cross-cultural soundscapes.
Raised in Missouri and now based in New Mexico, Jordan’s work is rooted in decades of mentorship with elders across diverse cultural traditions—from the Ozarks to Central Mexico to Yiddishland. He approaches Yiddish not as a preserved relic, but as a living, evolving voice capable of speaking to our times.
Come experience Jordan’s intimate solo-accordion & vocal arrangements in an evening of poetic resonance, communal spirit, and soulful exploration. All are welcome — let us gather together in music after Yom Tov, to celebrate voice, meaning, and connection.
